AdClerks Review: Is It Better Than BuySellAds?

As publishers, we are always looking for effective ways to monetize our content. Selling ad space on your site is an oldie but goodie. Networks such as AdClerks claim help facilitate finding advertisers and selling ad space on your site. But if you’ve been in the business long enough, you know better than to trust what you hear or see. So it’s probably why you’re going through AdClerks reviews to get the inside scoop of what the site is all about.

Well, hold on to your hats. Our research led us to some pretty hard truths about the network, and we have them all in this AdClerks review. Better safe than sorry, right?

Who Is AdClerks?

AdClerks.com (Formerly PublicityClerks) is a self-serve, display ad platform that allows users to buy and sell online ad space on an open marketplace. The company was founded in 2012 by James Hakim, and currently features over 10,000 websites within the network.

How Does AdClerks Work?

AdClerks works more or less the same as BuySellAds. You have advertisers and publishers.

As an advertiser, you get to buy targeted display ad space from curated and vetted publishers’ websites of your choosing. On your dashboard, you’ll be able to see ad impressions, clicks and CTR (click-through-rate) weighed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. AdClerks’ offers include CPC, CPM and CPA across most verticals. Once you see an offer that is ideal for you, you can buy it immediately and the ad will run nearly immediately.

For publishers, once you apply and get approved, all you have to do is place their asynchronous js code for your zones on your website and your ad zones will be available to purchase in the marketplace. AdClerks gives you a self-serve platform where you can set your own rates for available slots on your website.

You can place an on-site shopping cart on your dashboard where advertisers can buy ad slots. You also get listed on a proprietary directory that’s also optimized for search engines. All you do is write an attractive site description that may entice potential advertisers. If they like what they see they buy your ad space and you make money!

AdClerks Features

AdClerks like most networks will have some unique features that may enhance your income, they are as follows:

Self-serve platform – You get to set your own prices, choose the location, size of the ad, and either approve or reject offers from advertisers.

SwiftAds – SwiftAds is a “side hustle” sort of feature that allows you to monetize unsold impressions while you wait for direct ad deals in the marketplace. The CPM rates are very aggressive with 100% fill rate.

On-site Shopping Cart – With the on-site shopping cart, advertisers get to make selections without the need to leave your site. They can search for stats based on impressions, price, size of the ad and category.

These features sound great, especially SwiftAds, that’s exclusive to AdClerks. But the only way these features will be of any use to you is if you have traffic, and tons of it. So if you’re looking for strategies and tools that will help you get more traffic to your site, consider joining Wealthy Affiliate. The program trains you on how to get tons of FREE, organic traffic from Google and lots of other proven strategies that help you monetize your site better. It’s free to join.

How Much Money Can You Make With AdClerks?

How much money you can make with this program largely depends on the nature and amount of your traffic. In any case, AdClerks will charge you a 15-25% success fee for any ad sale you make. But you may use the SwiftAds feature to make more money with unsold impressions.

When Does AdClerks Pay Publishers?

Payments are made twice a month via either PayPal, bank transfer of Bitcoin. Once you hit $25, you can make a cash out request.

AdClerks Requirements

Approval may take not more than two days. But your website needs to meet the following requirements.

  • You’ll need more than 100,000 impressions on your site.
  • Your content should be fresh and not plagiarized.
  • They don’t approve free domain sites.
  • No bot traffic sources or traffic exchanges. Your traffic should be real and preferably organic.
  • You also won’t get approved if your site contains nudity, offensive language, sale of firearms, content that promotes illegal activity and any other content that’s in violation of their Terms of Service.

If for any reason you don’t make the cut, keep on smiling because not all networks have those many requirements. You can consider Maxbounty.com, Traffic Jam Media, iGain.com or Ezoic as alternatives.

How To Join AdClerks

Joining AdClerks is free. All you have to do is go here and submit the necessary information, including your name, email, location and so on. You’ll then be redirected to another page where you’ll be asked to fill in your site’s details. As mentioned earlier, approval shouldn’t take more than 48 hours if everything goes as planned.

How To Login Into AdClerks

So once you get approved, you can go to the Publisher’s login area and kick things off. You can then set up your dashboard and start creating offers.

AdClerks Support

AdClerks makes support available via Live Chat all day, every day. You can also send an email to support@adclerks.com.

AdClerks Complaints

So now you have an idea of what AdClerks is all about. But as you may already know, every company has its own flaws. So read the complaints below so you can better decide whether the network is worth it for you.

The requirements keep changing

Publishers say that AdClerks periodically changes their requirements. Not so long ago, 50,000 impressions were enough. Then they bumped it up to 100,000. And now you needed a custom domain to get approved. So things may change a lot by the time you apply.

Customer support can do better

Users claim that you can go for days without hearing back from customer support, especially when money is involved. They are quick to answer, but following through is a nightmare, as you may have to wait for longer than necessary to get your issues solved.

Why Did You Reject Me?

Applying is easy, but getting approved is a whole other story, according to some publishers. There have been reports where a publisher may even meet all the requirements but still not get approved.

No BBB Profile.

At the time of this review, AdClerks is not listed with the Better Business Bureau. So it’s up to you to decide if that is important to you or not.

But hey, if any of these complaint brush you the wrong way, never fret. You can look into other networks like Maxbounty.com, Traffic Jam Media, iGain.com or Ezoic as alternatives.

Should You Join AdClerks?

AdClerks is a great monetization platform for sites that have a high impressions volume. If you’re familiar with BuySellAds, then AdClerks seems to be taking them head-on. So it may be worth a shot, assuming you meet their ever changing fluid requirements.

Either way, if you decide to join this, or just about any other network, the amount of traffic you have will determine your paycheck. So if you could use more website traffic, joining Wealthy Affiliate may be exactly what you need. You’ll have access to proven strategy tools, training and methods of getting free, organic traffic that will entice advertisers to buy ad slots on your site. Best of all it’s free to get started!

That said, it never hurts to look into other ad networks as well. More often than not you may find better features or even lesser requirements than what AdClerks has. So feel free to check out Maxbounty.com, Traffic Jam Media, iGain.com or Ezoic as other options.

Well, that’s all from me today. If you want to know more about the network, you can visit their FAQs page. And finally, don’t be a stranger. We would love it if you shared your thoughts or experiences with this or any other ad network you have in mind.

Until next time
