Ezoic Review: Increase Your Site Income by 250%?

There are many ways bloggers can make money with their blogs. Some are better than others. Ezoic claims to help bloggers earn as much as 250% more by letting them place ads on your site. But is this possible and true? There are a lot of Ezoic reviews out there with their own opinions. But if you want to know the good, bad, ugle and more importantly the truth, you should read our Ezoic review first!

Who is Ezoic?

Ezoic.com has headquarters in California and two locations in the UK. The company was founded by Dwayne Lafleur who was the former CEO of Cubics (the first Facebook advertising network). Ezoic is also a Certified Google Publishing Partner and a certified partner of JW Player, Cloudflare, and Flippa.

How Does Ezoic Work?

Ezoic performs automatic website testing that helps publishers display ads and their website pages more efficiently for the visitor by testing ads and website layouts. When you sign up to Ezoic, you agree to allow their ad network code and/or advertisements to be placed on your website.

They then use an A.I. (artificial intelligence) engine to test ads according to your goals. Ezoic uses this information to learn how visitors interact with websites and assists publishers in placing ads in better positions. Better ad position means lower bounce rates and longer visitor sessions.

Custom: allows you to choose your own weighting measures. You instruct the system what to look for. You can also opt to use the desktop platform, the mobile platform or both.

Ezoic Features

Ezoic has a lot of robust features for it’s publishers that it can be overwhelming.

Layout Tester: tests content layouts, ad locations and navigation features all at the same time.

Ad Tester: tests different ad positions, sizes, types, colors, etc. The publisher decides what kind of ads to show

UX focused testing where different combinations of ads are tested on your site that track page views per visit.

Revenue Focused: weights revenue 70:30 against user experience.

Balanced: weighs testing decisions with a 50:50 split between user experience and revenue.

Google AMP Converter: Ezoic has a free AMP Converter App that any website can use. This app converts pages into Google AMP compliant pages making it easier for pages to be indexed in search engines.

Split Testing: Ezoic encourages publishers to split test their traffic. This allows publishers to see the difference in revenue and visitor sessions.

Advanced Analytics: Ezoic relies on advanced analytics to test ads in different ways such as placement, different formats, sizes and colors.

Obviously there is a lot of features here to help you make money with the ads displayed on your site. But did you know you can make more money as well by monetizing your website by promoting other affiliate network offers on your site as well. Here are some other networks worth considering that provide you other ways to earn on your site as well:

How Much Does Ezoic Cost?

Publishers can join Ezoic for free and there is a 30-day, no-obligation, trial period. There’s no contract to sign. There’s no penalty for cancelling. If you stay on the free plan you agree to allow Ezoic to place a small ad at the bottom of your site. This is to help Ezoic cover costs.

How Much Can Publishers Make With Ezoic?

Ezoic claims that publishers can earn 50-120% more using their ad strategies. And in some cases, up to 250% more.

However it’s always a good idea to have multiple streams of income to maximum your earning potential. So with that in mind, here are a few other networks you may want to consider joining as well: iGain.com, Maxbounty.com & Traffic Jam Media.

Of course, none of this matters if you don’t have enough traffic to your site. And traffic is an integral part of any network program. If you don’t have the minimum amount of traffic, you can’t sign up for this program. And if your problem is traffic to your site, you may want to check out Wealthy Affiliate. They can teach you how to get a ton of FREE traffic to your website!

When Does Ezoic Pay Publishers?

Ezoic pays publishers net 45 days according to their Terms and Conditions but the normal payout is net 30 days. The minimum payout is $20. Payments are made via Payoneer, direct deposit, Dwolla, check and Paypal.

Ezoic Requirements

Let’s talk about what the requirements are to join Ezoic. Here are some things to expect:

  • You can only have one account
  • Your site must have a minimum 10,000 visitors per month
  • You must be compliant with all Google policies
  • Your site must be in an Adsense supported language
  • If you decide to stay on the free plan, you must allow Ezoic to place a small ad at the bottom of your site

How To Join Ezoic?

To join Ezoic, create an account by going to this link https://svc.ezoic.com/join.php and filling out the form. Once you accepted into the program, you’ll need to change your DNS servers to Ezoic servers. After that, you turn Ezoic on. If you use Cloudflare you can simply install the CloudFlare app and Ezoic can then become your master DNS because they are a Cloudflare partner. It may take a day or so before you are synced up with Ezoic.

What We Like About The Ezoic Program

Ezoic helps publishers position ads better so there’s a potential to make 50% more revenue. And Ezoic does a lot of the work for you. Here are a few more things we like about Ezoic:

Ezoic Affiliate Program:

The affiliate program pays publishers for promoting Ezoic. Publishers can earn 3% commission for the time their referrals use Ezoic. Commissions are paid out the following month.

Low payout requirement:

Some networks will require that you reach a high minimum to get paid. But Ezoic minimum payout is only $20 at the time of this review. And they provide various ways to get paid.

Many different ad options:

Your users are probably on both desktops and mobile devices. Fortunately Ezoic provides ad options that will cover all devices which increases your revenue.

All CMS platforms are supported:

It doesn’t seem to matter what type of website platform you’re on because Ezoic has solutions that work with most of the popular ones which include:

  • WordPress
  • Drupal
  • Dreamweaver
  • Sitecore

Even older technologies such as Pearl are supported.

Ezoic Complaints

So we’ve laid out all the good things. Now it’s time to get into bad things. It’s up to you to decide if any of these are a deal breaker or not.

Minimum Number of Site Visitors To Qualify

Before you can join the program, your site must have a minimum of 10,000 visitors per month. In fact, you can’t complete the sign up form without disclosing the number of monthly site visitors.

Change Your DNS Records

They highly encourage you to change your DNS (domain name server) to Ezoic’s DNS. This gives Ezoic all the control so publishers are completely dependent on Ezoic’s technology. This could be risky if something goes wrong. If Ezoic’s servers go down so does your site!

Changing your DNS can interfere with your email account.

A Little More Complicated Than Other Programs

The program can be a little complicated for the average blogger. You really need to know a lot about online marketing and have decent technical skills when it comes to things like DNS.

Duplicate Ads

If you are a member of more than one advertising network, there may be times that you and Ezoic are displaying the same ads.

Can Slow Down Your Site

Ezoic claims that using their platform will not slow down your site, but there have been complaints that sites have indeed been slowed down once the Ezoic program was activated.

If any of the complaints above make your uneasy, I totally get it. Fortunately there are other networks to consider which don’t have many of these complaints such as: iGain.com, Maxbounty.com & Traffic Jam Media. Having multiple streams of income helps to spread out your risk with any one network.

But regardless of the network you join, having more traffic usually means more money. Wealthy Affiliate can teach you how to get more FREE traffic and make more money with your blog with their easy to step by step training.

Should You Join The Ezoic Affiliate Program?

Ezoic is not a scam and you can indeed make money here. But there are a few caveats. Keep in mind that you need a site with a minimum of 10,000 visitors per month to open an account. If you don’t have that type of traffic you probably won’t get in. Fortunately you can learn how to increase traffic to your website, with Wealthy Affiliate. They will teach you how to generate tons of FREE traffic and make more money with your site.

Some of the other technical requirements may also be intimidating to a potential publisher. So these are some things to consider that may give you pause. If it does or doesn’t it’s still worth looking into other options as well:

  1. This is another great review.  I am hesitating a little bit, just from the con where it can slow your site down.  This is one thing I don’t want to do is slow down my site.  I am curious if you have used this platform before and if you noticed a slow down?  I already have posts that have numerous pictures.  I don’t believe my site loads slow, but I would be hesitant to have it slowed down.

    • Yeah I did use them on my site, but it was for a short period of time. It didn’t feel like it slowed my site that much. Mediavine is the company I currently use and my site loads just fine. So it all depends on the company you use.

  2. Ezoic does sound like a good platform to join if you meet their requirements.

Unfortunately, at the moment I do not, so for now it is not for me. But even if I did qualify, I really don’t think that I would be happy with the risk that it would slow down my site, and I certainly would not want to change my DNS to theirs!

I do like the sound of the other programs which you recommend. I have made a note of those, and I will definitely be investigating them.

Thank you so much for your information.

  3. This surely looks like a good opportunity to earn  revenue from different affiliate site. Ezoic seem to be a good site that wants  to help. But I just started creating my website and haven’t started getting much visitors. So I think I’m gonna hold my horses till I start getting more visitors daily. Thanks for this awesome review.

    • You’re welcome. It only makes sense to join programs like this when you actually have traffic. So you’re right to hold off.

  4. Well  know there is no way Im changing my DNS.  Simply not because of trust issues but because Im not tech savvy enough if something goes wrong.

I am at almost 10 000 visitors a month so in that form I would almost qualify.  Oh boy!!  So much to think about.

Thank you for providing me the information.  Now its up to me to make decisions.

    • Well the DNS change they can help you with. They have technical folks that can help with the implementation. So don’t let that deter you if that is an issue.

  5. Ezioc advertising does seem like an amazing opportunity but as you said from your review the process to become a member and linking your site to their server does seem complicated. If the claim of being able to position ads to make 50% more revenue is true then I would say that it is totally worth it but the criteria of having 10000 monthly visitors before you can apply does seem a bit extreme and this has made it possible for newbies not to be able to take part in the system. But it does seem like a good opportunity whereby bloggers with good traffic can benefit.

    • I agree some of the technical and traffic requirements are daunting for newbies. But it could be worth it if you’re looking for a passive way to increase your blog income.

  6. Hi

Its funny but I was actually just considering joining Ezoic but the minimum number of traffic disqualified me. I personally think that 10,000 visitors /month is a lot and that was a bit discouraging at first but now it is inspiring to work harder to get traffic to my site. I guess every program has its rules. Thank you for your research and well written content. Have a great day

    • Hey Pam,

One day you’ll be able to easily get 10,000 visitors per month. It’s probably daunting now because your site is still new. But you’ll get there and be able to take advantage of various networks like this.

  7. Thank you for your honest review on Ezoic and showing all the details as well the Pro and Cons.

Indeed, there is already a dealbreaker for me when I have to switch my DNS and, I certainly won’t do this to give total control to a company I don’t know anything about until it might be too late.

Don’t get me wrong I do understand that Ezoic isn’t a scam but, it isn’t something I would choose not knowing what really can happen.

I agree with you when you are saying that the individual who likely will sign up, are those, who already do understand the ramifications.

I am, personally, not there, yet, with my, still, limited knowledge of affiliate marketing but, I will keep this article saved for later reference.

    • Yeah I totally understand how the DNS thing would scare you away. It gave me pause as well. But I tried it and nothing horrible happened to my site. But I decided to go with another company instead.

  8. Hey Eddy with a Y, good article, I really was not aware of these particular programs, so Number One I learned something.  And Number Two you covered them thoroughly, and opened my eyes.  Ezoic is above my expertise as I don’t have that level of traffic just yet.

The others I will be checking out. One thing I would think twice about is to change servers, with respect to Ezoic, do the others require that in any sort?  Keep up the good work!

    Steve
